How to Restore the Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 to Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Step 1 - Download Firmware I8160DXMA1 official Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Galaxy Ace over 2 I8160 to the computer , then extract .

Step 2 - Download ODIN v3.09 to help the install process on the Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 , do not forget to extract your downloaded .

Step 3 - Turn off your Galaxy Ace 2 i8160 and get into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Home button + Power + Volume Down simultaneously . Then press the Volume UP to continue to enter Download Mode .

Step 4 - Run Odin Multi Downloader on the computer .

Step 5 - Attach the USB cable to your Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 to connect it to the computer . A message with the words " Added " will appear below the message box of Odin . You also have to look at the COM port number on the yellow if the device is successfully connected .

Step 6 - Now select an existing file to flash / install on your phone . These files can be found from the extracted files in Step 1 .

Click on " PDA " and select the file with the name " CODE " or " HOME " ( ending tar.md5/tar ) .
Click on " Phone " and select the file with the name " MODEM " . Ignore this step if there is no such file .
Click on the " CSC " and select the file with the name " CSC " . Ignore this step if there is no such file .
Click on the " PIT " and select the file . Pits . Ignore this step if there is no such file .
Step 7 - In Odin , tick Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time . As for the Re - Partition option , check if you choose a file . Pits .

Step 8 - Click the "Start" button in Odin to begin the installation .

Step 9 - Once the installation is complete , you will see the message " Pass " on a green background in the left-most box at the top of the Odin . Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 you will automatically reboot and will soon be able to see the Samsung logo . You can safely unplug the USB cable from the Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 to remove it from the computer .

Note : If the Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 stuck at the boot animation ( after step 9 ) please go into recovery mode and perform an additional step to select wipe data / factory reset , wipe cache partition and then select " Reboot system now " .
